Hedi Varga-Albert
This exceptional building is very near to Heroes’ Square and the City Park. The latter provides an open and green view from the building, especially from the top floor terrace. This area is the main district for embassy and government buildings in Budapest. It was built between 1948-49 by four Hungarian architects (Gádoros Lajos, Perényi Imre, Preisich Gábor, Szrogh György), and as a very important example of modern Hungarian architecture, it is a national monument. Previously it was the headquarters of Trade Unions. The building has two parts, the office building with four floors and the Auditorium, which is linked to the main building with a passage. Since it is close to the center, the road communications are excellent, and the public transport also (Metro line 1, various trolley and bus lines).
