Renovating our own office while the team kept working and finishing in three months
This project is a little closer to home than most. The renovation of iO Partners' own offices at Na Příkopě in Prague gave us the opportunity to practice what we advise, delivering a full fit-out transformation across 891 sqm while the office remained fully operational, completed in three months through careful phasing and tight project coordination.
An Office That No Longer Matched How We Actually Work
The existing iO Partners office at Na Příkopě needed to evolve. The space was functional, but it didn't reflect how the team had grown or how collaboration, meetings and focus work now coexist in a modern hybrid workplace. The ambition was clear: create a new central meeting and social zone, address acoustics properly, and make the overall use of space more efficient.
The constraint was equally clear: the office couldn't stop. With a fully operational team in the space every day, the renovation had to be delivered in phases with minimal disruption to the daily rhythm of the business. iO Partners took on the project management and coordination role, as it would for any client facing the same challenge.
Phased, Precise, and Designed Around the Team
- Divided the full renovation into phased stages, with just 1.5 months allocated per phase, ensuring continuous office operations throughout
- Coordinated the architectural design process with Michal Šindelář, ensuring the brief was translated into a layout that genuinely improved how the space functions day-to-day
- Managed the construction process with UNLIMIT DB, maintaining tight timelines and quality control across every stage
- Focused on acoustics as a primary design challenge, creating spaces that support both focused individual work and active collaboration without compromise
- Ensured the architectural language naturally reflected iO Partners' brand identity throughout the finished space
